Insurance against accidents
Participants are responsible for their own insurance cover. All matriculated students, postgraduate students, auditors and other people that are authorised to be on the premises of the University of Bern or to participate in the sports and sports activities programme of Uuniversity Sports are automatically insured against accidents through the collective accident insurance of the Zürich. They are thus insured in the case of accidents that occur on the premises of the University of Bern or during the programme of University Sports only for those costs that are not covered by their own compulsory accident and healthcare insurance. Thus, all participants must additionally be insured privately against accidents, since the accident insurance of the University of Bern does not replace individual accident insurance.
In case the accident insurance of the University of Bern needs to be used, the appropriate accident notification forms can be obtained from the University Admissions Office directly or through the post (Tel. +41 (0)31 631 39 11). The completed form (with precise details of the training session and of the coach) is then to be submitted to the director of University Sports for signature.
